The cucumber is a tropical Plant originated in Southeast Asia more than 10,000 years ago and its popularity had spread to the ancient civilizations of Egypt, Greece, and Rome. During ancient times, it was used not only as a food, but also for its beneficial skin-healing properties according to The Encyclopedia of Healing Foods.

Cucumber juice is the beautifier, known to promote hair growth, impede hair loss, revitalize the skin and prevent split nails. Because of the healing properties of Vitamin A, potassium, silicon and sulphur, I have subscribed the name beautifier for this ancient vegetable.  Dr. N.W. Walker prescribes a blend of raw cucumber juice, carrot and romaine lettuce for skin care.  Drinking the combination of vegetables will remedy acne, psoriasis, eczema, and most skin eruptions.

Cucumber has a cooling effect on the body because it is mostly water with vital nutrients  that are known to be an excellent diuretic for reducing fluid retention.  With a high potassium content this juice is valuable for people with high and low blood pressure.  Please do not peel the cucumber because most of the nutrients are in the skin with a high amount of vitamin A.

An important note, when buying cucumber, choose the un-waxed, dark green cucumber, if you juice waxed cucumber the wax will enter the juice.  Enjoy~

Benefits: Diuretic, Cooling Vegetable; Acne; Arthritis; Eczema; Fever; Fluid Retention, Hair Loss; Kidney Disorder; Psoriasis; Weight Loss
