[dropcap1]I[/dropcap1] was in Ocala, FL over the weekend celebrating my mother in-law’s birthday. Like all birthday celebrations, there was plenty of cake to eat. Sugar can sometimes have an adverse effect on my body if I consume too much. What will usually happen is I develop painful gas, my body will ache and I develop acne. This past weekend, there was plenty of cheesecake and birthday cake for all to enjoy, so I ate a little. Well, a little can sometimes become a-lot considering I rarely feast on cakes. By the way, we ate cake throughout the weekend, naughty me! Of course, I did not want to be a party pooper, and the cake was pleasing to my palate so I like everyone else indulged all weekend in cake. Again, I say, naughty me!
The results from my over indulgence is horrible acne, gas and my body aches. Was it worth it? Yes, because we were celebrating her birthday and “No” because I knew my discomfort would be great. When we returned home, my first thought was to cleanse my internal system. I prepared the following juice because I needed to flush my intestinal area, and heal my skin.
For the ingredients, I chose honeydew melon because of the high content of water, vitamin C and copper, which are excellent for healing my skin. Cabbage, chosen because it is the ultimate detoxifier by improving the body’s ability to eliminate harmful toxins and chemicals while increasing the antioxidant defense within the body, cabbage juice is highly cleansing and is an effective laxative and skin healer. The apples including the peeling has a high amount of vitamin A needed for healthy skin, eyes, digestive tract and immune system. Due to the high mineral content, fresh raw apple juice is good for enhancing the health of my skin. Pectin is a soluble fiber found in apples, stimulates the intestines to move toxin and fecal out. Whenever I feast on a healing juice, I drink plenty of water to aid in the flushing of my body. This juice is a great cleanser that has a pleasant taste and it is ideal for symptoms like mine. Enjoy!~
