Within the fruit category peaches have been treated with more pesticides than any other produce, registering up to 57 different chemicals. Next are apples with 56 known pesticides followed by raspberries with 51. I cannot stress the importance of eating organic fruits and vegetables. If your budget does not dictate the expense, please do buy the organic fruit and vegetables listed on EWG’s dirty dozen list. This is one step to minimizing toxic intake for you and your family.
Never peel the apple when you’re pressing fresh raw juice. The apple peel has a high amount of vitamin A needed for healthy skin, eyes, digestive tract and immune system. Nearly everyday I drink organic apple juice. The nutrients within the apple help to boost my immune system to fight off intestinal infections, colds and flu. Due to the high mineral content fresh raw juice is good for enhancing the health of my skin, hair and fingernails. Well, my nails are different, we all have our weaknesses but I must confess, sometimes I do nibble on my nails when I am in deep concentration. So, don’t judge me on my nails, please. When I am focused, I chew my nails. Hmmm!
Getting back to the apple, this is what I learned; apple consumption is associated with reducing cancer, heart disease and asthma. Apples have a high content of flavonoids and pectin which lowers cholesterol and “improves the intestinal muscles ability to push waste through the gastrointestinal tract” according to The Encyclopedia of Healing Foods. Pectin is a soluble fiber helping to move the bowels. When fruit has a high amount of pectin it stimulates the intestines to move toxin and fecal out while enforcing and regulating the bowels. For all you people who have problems with constipation, apples are a natural healer and reliever of the discomforts. This is wonderful about the apple because it will remove unfriendly colonic bacteria and parasites while aiding the digestive system. Everything I need and want for my body is in that sweet and delicious fruit, enjoy the taste of it! Yum! Yum!
Here are a list of the vitamins you will receive when you make fresh unpeeled raw organic apple juice: Vitamins A, B1, B6, C, biotin, minerals e.g. chloride, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, silicon, sodium and sulfur.
