Have you ever had a beverage that had you feeling really good?  The recipe I am sharing with you, Spinach Orange Kiwi Juice, ignites a  feeling of goodness within.  Two days ago, I was feeling sluggish from my day to day routine and realized I needed a pick me up.  So I ordered a salad from one of my favorite restaurants Yako San and I prepared an energy booster of spinach, kiwi and orange juice to accompany the salad. A perfect pairing followed by lots of water to flush the juice and veggies thorough my system.

I discovered this recipe and felt an urgent desire to share it with you.  What makes this recipe a pleaser is the enormous boost of vitamin C from the kiwi and the oranges along with the iron from my favorite vegetable spinach has this juice packed with energizing nutrients.  A lack of iron, the most common mineral deficiency, can lead to lethargy, irritability, weakness and depression.  I hope you will enjoy the taste and indulge in the nutrients your body will receive.

Orange is high in vitamin C a powerful antioxidant to boost the immune system, improve the lens of the eyes, the reproductive organs, the joints and gums.  The pectin in an orange has properties to lower cholesterol. In addition, the orange is an excellent source of vitamin B1, B2 and B6, pectin, potassium and carotene.

Kiwi fruit is an antioxidant that has twice as much vitamin C as an orange. The fruit is a good source of vitamin E, magnesium, and potassium and contains copper, which is needed to make energy.  By eating and juicing kiwi, a person is less likely to have respiratory related health problems including wheezing, night cough and shortness of breath.

Spinach is the most alkaline producing food with twice the amount of iron than most green vegetables and an ideal source of nutrients to restore your energy and increase vitality.  Daily consumption of the raw juice produces unbelievable results within the entire digestive tract, your skin and hair will enhance beautifully after a couple of months. Spinach is packed with energy restoring folic acid, vitamin K, vitamin B1, B2, B6, vitamin C, iron, magnesium and manganese.

Did you know?  Thin skin oranges contain more juice that thicker skinned oranges.  If you place oranges in a bowl of warm water for several minutes before juicing, they will yield more juice.

Did you know? Vibrant deep green spinach leaves are the optimum for juicing.  Do not juice yellowing or bruised leaves.

Recipe:

10 1/2 oz of spinach leaves

2  peeled oranges ( If you choose to leave the skin on the juice will be tart and creamier)

3 kiwi fruit peeled

Wrap the spinach leaves around the oranges and kiwi fruit, press through a juicer and drink immediately.  Enjoy!
