Delicious Pineapple, Watermelon, Mint and Ginger Juice, Relieves Inflammation, Supports Digestive
This recipe taste great and relieves inflammation and water retention while soothing the gastrointestinal tract. I call this The Eye Opener. The several ingredients within this recipe integrate well, creating a highly refreshing juice.
3/4 of a pineapple with skin
1/2 of a quarter slice of a whole watermelon including the rind
1 bunch of mint
Small piece of ginger with skin (add ginger according to your taste)
Juice all the ingredients and please leave the skin on the fruit. I always leave the skin on my fruits and vegetables because most of the vitamins and nutrients are in the skin.
The pineapple was chosen due to the large amount of sulphur and chlorine which are valuable cleansers. The sulphur and bromelain, anti inflammatory, effectively reduce inflammation and swelling. This is ideal for people who suffer with arthritis and gout. Also, the bromelain alleviates indigestion while the mint and ginger heals the gastrointestinal tract by relaxing the muscles around the intestinal tract, which alleviates the symptoms of gas.
Both pineapple and watermelon are great diuretics for eliminating excess fluids from the body but the watermelon is also known for supporting the kidney and bladder function too. Still, I must stress the importance in juicing the watermelon rind. When you juice the rind, you are increasing the mineral and chlorophyll content in your juice. The fleshy pink part of the watermelon has very little nutrients. Most of the nutrients in watermelon are in the rind.
What are the nutrients in the Eye Opener juice? You will receive lots of Vitamins A, B, C, and E, calcium, sodium, potassium and magnesium, phosphorous, chlorine, sulphur, citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, minerals, chlorophyll, iron and bromelain.
